A New Year awaits us on Thursday, what will this new year bring? Much of this depends on you and your mindset. Will you have a renewed love and purpose since God in His mercy has given you life in this new year? As I get older, I remember this quote, “aging is a privilege denied to many”. Will I keep my perspective joyful and positive, pressing forward even in spite of the obstacles, whether from this body of mine, or other problems that will come? Will I live as a new creation in my innermost thoughts?
A New Creation
There are so many “new” things in the Bible. A new song, a new heaven & earth, a new commandment, a new and living way. Yet, a very important “new” is living, thinking, and acting as a new creation.
In the picture above is a simple but powerful haiku to remind us of who we are and what we are to do. Since we are in Christ, we are God’s daughters, and His Holy Spirit abides in us, then we are a NEW Creation. Let’s live accordingly.
The Opposite of New
Let’s think about this from the opposite point of view. Negative depressed thinking. Fear and anxiety rule. Shallow selfish thoughts that center around me, moi, мене. A hurry scurry, fret and worry lady. A chatty, gossipy heartbreaker. One who flirts with other men than her husband. An angry yelling mother. A liar and one that sows strife among sisters.
The Power of New
The power of New, the good thing about being a new creation is explained in Philippians 2: “for it is God who is at work in you, both to will and to work for His good pleasure” God, the creator of the universe is working in me and you for His good pleasure. Are we going to let Him work in us, or are we going to quench the Holy Spirit and as the song says “I Did it My Way!!!? Please let God work in your life and let Him continue to guide His new creation.
I don’t know about you, but when I put fresh newly cleaned sheets on our bed, it feels so good! It seems like we are even sleeping better. How much more our minds, when we have a fresh new mindset in 2026 that pleases God. It is your choice whether you will seek to do His will or your own.
I long for Jesus to return and take us to the new heaven and the new earth and live with Him. And I want as many ladies as I can help to be there with me, when it is their time. Some ladies I know might not even see the end of the new year, as it is time for them to go to God. We don’t know the day or the hour, but we want to be ready, living as a new creation. Looking forward to the new name that the Lord will give us some day. Notice that He gives this to the one who overcomes, to those who are victorious in this life. Will you join me, ladies and be an overcomer?
Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To the one who is victorious, I will give some of the hidden manna. I will also give that person a white stone with a new name written on it Rev. 2:17
Timely message. My husband and I are doing GW 365 2026 which means we are going to strive to do GOD”S WILL 365 days this year.
