How Can I Say Thanks

My Tribute by Andrae Crouch, touches my heart. It is so full of gratitude, giving of thanks, & praise. As a teenager, I remember singing this song with Dad, Mom Sylvia, & Renay as we took drives, or looked at the ocean with its waves. I will never forget those moments that drew me closer to the Lord.

When words are inadequate, let my heart speak my praise

♫♪ How can I say thanks for the things You have done for me. Things so undeserved, yet You give to prove Your love for me. The voices of a million angels could not express my gratitude. All that I am and ever hope to be, I owe it all to Thee ♫♪ The first verse of this powerful song.

Such strong emotion in this song, can’t you just sense the desire to give thanks & praise to the Lord? Just think, Jesus chose me and He chose you! Ladies, He adopted us to be His daughters, His children. That should prompt us to give thanks for the rest of our life.  We are to praise and glorify Jesus Christ and His grace.

He predestined us to adoption as sons and daughters through Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will, to the praise of the glory of His grace. Eph 1:5-6a NASB

Give Thanks to God

Can we give thanks to God and prove our love as this song says? If you were in a court of law accused of being a Christian, would there be enough evidence to convict you as a true follower of Christ? God proved His love for us, and we can as well. Rom 5:8 in the Amplified version reads:

But God clearly shows and proves His own love for us, by the fact that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

♪♫♪ To God be the glory (3x) for the things He has done. With His blood He has saved me, with His pow’r He has raised me. To God be the glory, for the things He has done ♫♪. Just as the song says, We are to give glory to God forever, praising and giving thanks. This isn’t just our words, but our actions as well. So as you gather this week to give thanks let your life honor & glorify the Lord truly from your heart.
