Are you having a good harvest in this season of your life? My bonus daughter and her girls took last year’s pumpkin and let it rot, it completely died and shriveled up, but then new life slowly emerged from the old pumpkin. This autumn, they harvested 19 pumpkins from 1 dead rotten pumpkin.
Matt. 13:23 says, “But the one sown with seed on the good soil, this is the one who hears the word and understands it, who indeed bears fruit and produces, some a hundred, some sixty, and some thirty times as much.”
The harvest will come as God’s Word is sown on your heart. I am sure there were days looking at the rotten pumpkin, they wondered if anything good could come of it. Remember God can take a rotten hardened sinful life and brings about good fruit. Given time and prayer it can be a large or a small harvest, what matters is that good fruit comes. Do you have patience while God works in a person’s life and helps them change and grow good, delicious fruit? Or are you impatient and judgmental with new people?
A Good Harvest
Please ask yourself, are you good soil which yields a good harvest? This reminds me of what God does for us. In Romans 6: 1-4 NASB, “What shall we say then? Are we to continue in sin so that grace may increase? Far from it! How shall we who died to sin still live in it? Or do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus have been baptized into His death? Therefore, we have been buried with Him through baptism into death, so that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we too may walk in newness of life.”
We are no longer growing sinful fruit in our lives, but good fruit. We no longer continue to sin regularly, but now we are walking in grace and producing a good harvest. Jesus made us new! To conclude, let’s live like it and watch for that good harvest in other’s lives.

Thank you, Lisa, for your thoughts on our spiritual lives and formation. As Christians, we are dead to our old sinful lives, and thus in Christ, we must walk in faith and harvest the fruit of the Spirit.
thank you for your good feedback!
Isn’t He amazing to do that for us! Love love this real life illustration
